VERY GOOD NEWS! THE WASHINGTON MEDICAL COMMISSION’S COVID MISINFORMATION PROSECTION AGAINST DOC EGGLESTON HAS BEEN STAYED!
Breaking news: The Washington Medical Commission’s prosecution of retired opthamologist Richard Eggleston for “spreading Covid misinformation” in newspaper opinion pieces has been temporarily stayed. The hearing was supposed to start today, May 24, 2023 at 9:00 AM PDT. However, late yesterday afternoon, a State Appellate Court Commissioner stopped the hearing from going forward pending further proceedings.
Here is the Appellate Court Commissioner’s order.
commissioner’s ruling
The case will proceed through an appellate process, alittle different from normal since the case was heard by commissioner. There will be more paperwork to file. Todd Richardson, (the Doc’s local attorney, who is also the city attorney for the city he and Doc Eggleston live in and the city attorney for two other cities and counties in the area, read a deeply local guy) and I are planning what’s next. Since the Doc is retired, he is fighting this fight for principle and for other Washington Doctors, not for to protect his own financial interests.
On a not completely unrelated note, the Medical Commission has 60 other cases which have a covid misinformation charge. If you’re reading this and happen to be one of the 60, shoot me an email.
